Sales Policy

Our herd has testeed negative for CAE, CL, and Johnes as of November, 2024

All kids should be picked up on the bottle before 4 weeks of age. If for some reason you can't make it or weather permitting, we can work something out. If your kid has not been picked up at 4 weeks of age OR the agreed upon pickup date, it is a $5 a day feeding/caring fee.  *Some leniencies will be given to transportation or air shipping. But if an extended amount of time, fees will be applied*

Holding Of Kids-

Reservations are FREE until you are notified a reservation can be filled. If I am retaining out of the breeding, I will notify you who I have decided to keep and who is available. Once you are notified you have 2 days to decide if you want the animal, and 24 hour after your decision to send a non-refundable 50% down deposit.  I take deposits via Zelle or Check. If via check, kid is marked "pending deposit" until check has cleared. Once kid is picked up, the other 50% will be paid via Cash or Zelle before animal leaves farm with buyer or transport.

Sale Fall Through-

If for some reason you as a buyer decide to not get the animal after you have placed a deposit, it is non-refundable. If you placed a 50% deposit, 0% of that is refundable. So please, buyer, make sure you want this kid and you are in a place to receive it. Do us both a favor. Me of losing a sale, and you of losing money.

Wether Information

If you are purchasing a wether from us, congratulations on your new little buddy! They are great pets and companions. While the wethers are obviouslyt not registered, I will be tattooing "PET" in their left ear, and "1KGB" in their left ear. "1KGB" is our herd identification tattoo in case you want to find us again or if you sell him, for his new owners to find us if need be.

I will send them to you on the bottle, then around 12 weeks you bring them back to the farm to get health checks done as well as get their "green cheerio". If you band them too soon, their bodies could get stressed out and stunt growth for a period of time. So its always better for them to grow and mature a little before banding.

For banding, worming, and health check, it is $30 per-wether

Rights Of Seller-

Ivory Hill Farm requests first right of refusal on any and all registered animals we sell. Meaning if you find yourself in a position of selling, we ask that you notify us. Who knows, we might want to buy back. No judgement from us!

We have the right to scope out possible homes. Meaning if we feel as though our animal would be better suited at a different home, we will refuse the sale. For example: If you contacted us first, and are not a performance herd, we have the right to move the kid onto the next person interested if they are a performance herd.

We have the right to retain whomever we want. Number of reservations do not constitute any sort of agreement that you will receive a kid from that pairing. If I decide to sell a kid later, you will be notified. And if I need a few days to decide on my keeper kid, I will notify you once the decision has been made.

We deserve the right to decide registration status. If we feel this animal should not be a reflection on the "Ivory Hills" herd name, we will not register it. BUT if you are showing for 4H or FFA, we could work something out.

Buyer Responsibilities-

Have proper housing/fencing. Good fencing is a necessity when it comes to goats. To both keep them in, and predators out. While goats are considered outside pets, they need respectable housing to ensure quality of life. They need a warm dry place to get out of the elements.

Have more than one goat of the same age. Goats are herd animals and need at least one other herd member roughly the same age. If you have two goats with large age gaps, they likely won't bond as well. If you cannot prove to me that you have other goats in the same age group, I would suggest you purchase and additional buddy.

Show up with proper transport. Such as:

I will refuse the sale if you show up with disgraceful transportation. If I feel as though the animal will be uncomfortable on the drive home, for any duration of time, I as the seller will not follow through with the sale and your deposit will be refunded.

Make arrangements for pickup. If we both agree to a date and time of pickup and you as the buyer do not show, you will not be receiving an animal from us the sale is then void, and your deposit forfeited.

-A crate big enough for them to turn around and lay down

-Crate that is out of the harsh weather. Such as inside the cab or properly covered.

-A clean livestock trailer

-If the kid is on the bottle, I would suggest they ride in the cab or on someone's lap.

Things to Know

We will disclose this to any buyer before the sale is finalized

Reservations/Purchase-

All kids are pulled at birth and started on a bottle. No exceptions will be made to people who do not want their kid pulled at birth. Until kids are purchased and off our property, we do what we feel is best for our animals. Kids are also disbudded at 7-10 days of age. We will not sell anything with horns.
